You lose 2000 of these a year after Prostate Surgery...

Here’s a podcast interview I highly recommend: ‘Bringing Your Sexy Back after Prostate Cancer’

This is a conversation between Dr. Jo Milios and Dr. Susie Gronski, two Physiotherapists passionate about men’s sexual health.

While I was listening, I had a ‘pause, rewind’ moment at about 25 minutes in at this quote:

“When men do not have nocturnal erections anymore (for example, after prostate surgery due to nerve trauma) they lose out on 2000 erections a year”

This blew my mind!

One principle of Penile Rehabilitation is that nocturnal erections serve as a form of physiological ‘housekeeping’.

Sort of like the body takes the genitals for a nightly jog to keep them fit and healthy.

This is why manual erection-creation is recommended post Prostate Surgery while you’re not getting nocturnal erections.

You can do this via erection-inducing options such as injections, or using a vacuum device (this is an ideal method for daily use).
